We make a QR code app. We also kept answering the same questions from users: how big should it be, why will it not scan, what is the difference between static and dynamic, is this parking-meter code safe. The answers on the web were thin, contradictory or a sales page.
So the site is now three things.
A reference. The Learn section explains how QR codes work, their history, the standards and the scams, at a reading level a 12-year-old could follow, with a diagram on every page and real codes you can scan.
A toolbox. Thirteen free tools that run in your browser: a decoder, a size calculator, a contrast checker, a scannability tester and more. Nothing you type or upload leaves your device.
An honest comparison. Compare lists every QR app and web generator a phone user is likely to meet, with the same questions asked of each. Every page has a “where they are better” section and a date on which we last checked their listing.
The app is still here, still free for unlimited static codes, and still without ads. But if you never install it and just leave with a code that scans first time, this site did its job.
