What the optimiser does

Each row of dark modules is merged into horizontal runs, and all runs are written as one path with M, h, v and z commands. The result is exactly the same shape.

One path, one background rect, viewBox set to the module grid so it scales cleanly to any size.

A 600-object group with pixel coordinates that produces seams at 37% zoom and cannot be recoloured in one click.

Frequently asked questions

▸Why do generators export hundreds of rectangles?

It is the obvious way to write the code. It works, but designers end up with a group of 500 objects, and some renderers show faint lines between adjacent rectangles when the code is scaled to a non-integer size.

▸Can I change the colour later?

Yes. Select the path and set its fill. The background rectangle is separate so it can be removed for a transparent code.

▸What is the quiet zone setting?

How many blank modules of margin to include in the file. Four is the standard. Set zero only if the layout will provide its own white space.
