Adobe Express QR code generator by Adobe Inc.. Platforms: Web, iOS, Android. Facts taken from the official listing and help pages; QR Studio's from its feature list.

Where Adobe Express QR code generator is better or different

  • The code sits inside a full design tool with Adobe's templates, fonts and stock
  • Free with no software to install
  • Colour palettes, custom frames and drag-and-drop logo upload
  • Codes never expire
  • Web, iOS and Android apps under one Adobe account

Who each one is for

Adobe Express’s QR generator does one thing well: a static code for a URL, coloured, framed, with your logo dropped in, downloaded as PNG, JPEG or PDF or placed straight into an Express design. The page is clear about its limits: “Adobe Express currently generates QR codes for URLs only”, codes are static and “never expire”, and there is no analytics. Express Premium is $9.99 a month and Teams $4.99 a month per licence in the first year, but those buy design features, not QR ones.

It suits someone already in Express who needs a link code on a flyer. QR Studio suits someone who needs a Wi-Fi, vCard or SMS code, a vector file, a scannability check, or a code they can edit later.

Where QR Studio is better

  • Code types. Wi-Fi, vCard, text, email, SMS, geo, events and more. Express makes URL codes only.
  • SVG. QR Studio exports vector. Express offers PNG, JPEG and PDF.
  • Print-ready PDF. Bleed and crop marks. Express’s PDF is the design as a page.
  • Scannability checks. Every logo and colour combination is tested before export. Express lets you drop a logo in and hope.
  • Dot and eye shapes. Not offered in Express.
  • Dynamic codes and analytics. Not offered in Express.
  • Offline. QR Studio works without a connection.
  • AI design partner. Express has AI features elsewhere; the QR generator page describes none for codes.

Where Adobe Express is better

  • Layout. Templates, fonts and stock for the whole page around the code.
  • Ecosystem. One account with the rest of Adobe.
  • Price of the basics. Free, in a browser, on any operating system.

Switching

Every Express code is static. Decode it or copy the URL, paste into QR Studio, restyle and export SVG for the print shop. Drop the exported file back into your Express design if that is where the layout lives.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Adobe Express QR code generator free?

Yes. The page says 'Generate a free QR code for any URL in seconds' and lists PNG, JPEG and PDF downloads. Adobe Express Premium at $9.99 a month adds design features, not QR features.

Can I move my codes from Adobe Express to QR Studio?

Yes. Every Express code is static, so decode it, paste the URL into QR Studio and re-export. The old prints keep working.

Can Adobe Express make a Wi-Fi or vCard QR code?

No. Its FAQ says 'Adobe Express currently generates QR codes for URLs only' and points to a dedicated tool for Wi-Fi or contact cards.

Does Adobe Express export SVG QR codes?

The page lists PNG, JPEG and PDF. SVG is not mentioned, so we mark it as not offered.
