Who each one is for
MQRG (listed as “QR Code Generator - MQRG”) is a mobile-first generator aimed at “businesses, creators, and marketers”. Its listing leads with editable dynamic codes, scan tracking with push notifications, a custom link domain, 460+ templates and batch creation from CSV or JSON. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, and it was updated in August 2026.
QR Studio covers the same ground for dynamic codes and analytics, then adds an AI design partner, vector and print export, offline work and a price list you can read before you download.
Where QR Studio is better
- AI design. Describe a look, get variants, refine in conversation, with every variant checked for scannability. MQRG’s “quality check” only tests whether an existing code scans.
- Print output. SVG and print-ready PDF with bleed and crop marks. MQRG’s listing mentions export and sharing but no vector or PDF format.
- Offline. QR Studio creates, designs and exports with no connection. MQRG’s dynamic codes and tracking need its servers.
- Published prices. QR Studio’s prices are on this site and in the app. MQRG’s App Store entry lists ten purchases, including two different “1 year” prices ($26.99 and $89.99) and two “1 month” prices ($7.99 and $14.99), with no explanation of what each buys.
- Privacy label. MQRG’s App Privacy section lists Identifiers and Usage Data as “Data Used to Track You”. QR Studio has no ad or tracking SDKs. We could not confirm from the listing whether MQRG’s free tier shows ads, so the matrix marks it as not ad-free until we can.
Where MQRG is better
- Scan notifications. A push alert when someone scans. QR Studio shows scans in its analytics but does not push them yet.
- Templates. 460+ against QR Studio’s smaller launch set.
- Custom domain. Dynamic links on your own domain.
- Batch. Hundreds of codes from one CSV or JSON file.
- Share extension. Turn any Safari page into a code without leaving the browser.
- Mac and Vision. Native builds on both.

Switching
Export or note the payload of each static code and recreate it in QR Studio; the design is the only thing that changes. For dynamic codes, create the QR Studio replacement first, reprint, then let the MQRG plan lapse. Keep both running for a month so old prints still resolve while you swap them.

Prices change. We read the App Store listing on 7 September 2026. MQRG’s own website did not load for us that day, so the price list above is the one Apple publishes, not one from the developer.
