Who each one is for
Uniqode, formerly Beaconstac, sells QR codes to organisations that ask about SOC 2 before they ask about colours. Its homepage lists Zapier, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Salesforce, Meta, Slack and Canva integrations, an API, SSO and 2FA, and SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR and ISO certification. Plans are annual only: the pricing FAQ says they start at $9 a month, names Core at $49 a month, and prices a custom domain add-on at $2,000 a year. Static codes are free without limit. Uniqode also owns the-qrcode-generator.com, whose Free plan gives 2 dynamic codes with ads and whose Flex plan is $10 a month billed yearly.
It suits an enterprise. QR Studio suits the person who is not one.
Where QR Studio is better
- Price and billing. $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year or $69.99 once. Uniqode bills annually only, from $108 a year.
- Free tier. Unlimited static codes with design, no ads. Uniqode’s free static tool downloads PNG only; its sister site’s 2 free dynamic codes show ads.
- AI design partner. Not offered.
- Print-ready PDF from a phone. Bleed and crop marks. Uniqode’s PDF is a download format for dynamic codes.
- Offline. QR Studio works with no connection.
- Trial risk. QR Studio’s free tier does not expire. Uniqode’s pricing page says dynamic codes made in the trial become inactive without a subscription.
Where Uniqode is better
- Integrations. CRM, analytics and automation connectors QR Studio does not have.
- Compliance. Certifications and SSO for procurement.
- API and bulk. For programmatic creation.
- Vector formats. EPS as well as SVG and PDF for dynamic codes.

Decode static codes and rebuild them. For dynamic codes, create QR Studio replacements and reprint before the annual term ends, since there is no monthly plan to bridge the gap. On the-qrcode-generator.com, the 2 free dynamic codes stay active with ads, which gives you time.
